Free Movie in Denver and Knitting Class

The Denver Public Library’s with the coolest cultural group in the neighborhood – Colorado Ballet! Together, they’ll be creating wonderful opportunities for you to learn about dance in the city and enjoy the best that the Denver performance scene has to offer.  flashdanceFirst up, Knitting en Pointe, a film and knitting workshop series where crafters can hang out at the Colorado Ballet Academy, create a project, and watch a film.

Come out on January 24th and see FLASHDANCE, starring Jennifer Beals, Michael Nouri. You’re invited to grab your favorite (and artfully cut) sweatshirt and knit a pair of legwarmers while watching the classic story of a woman trying to trade her steel-toed work boots for ballerina toe shoes. The perfect 1980s fantasy to knit by – and our teacher, Ann Myhre will be on hand to teach you all the right moves – knitwise, that is. Don’t miss this fab opportunity to hang out where all of Denver’s finest dancers do it. All intermediate knitters (confident in casting on, binding off, decreasing, increasing, knit, purl and basic pattern stitches) will be registered for this workshop. Materials list provided with registration confirmation. Registration is required. Please register online or call 720-865-1206. 95 minutes. Rated R.
