The fest is a brilliant bubbling bonanza of brats, beer and music that takes over the street from 21st-23rd and Sept 28-30. The festival runs through Sept. 30. The event is based on the German Oktoberfest holiday, which is thought to have begun in 1810 as a wedding celebration for Prince Ludwig I.
