Free Mammogram Van in Denver – August-November 2011




The Coloradan reports that the Women’s Resource Center in Denver will be hosting a free monthly mammogram van through November.  Mammograms will be available to women age 40 and over. There are income restrictions.  Appointments are required and can be made by calling the Women’s Resource Center at (970) 484-1902.    Staff will be on site throughout the day and volunteers are still needed. The van will be available at the following locations:
» Aug. 11, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Red Feather Lakes, specific location is still to be determined.
» Sept. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Walmart parking lot, U.S. Highway 34 and Denver Avenue, Loveland.
» Oct. 22, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., JC Penney parking lot, off of College and Boardwalk in Fort Collins.
» Nov. 10, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Walmart parking lot, U.S. Highway 34 and Denver Avenue, Loveland.

    I worked at Wang Laboratories (a coortpare name that belied its size at
    its height) within the early 1980s, and besides what have been lovingly called minicomputers
    in those days, Wang also made a PC with proprietary software and a several features
    that appeared LATER on Macintoshes: imaging processors and retrievable sound files (not compressed to the extent they had been with MP3 technology).

    If only Steve Jobs had been born in New England and had been a
    retain the services of by Wang, factors might have been different.
